Emilia Reggio Program for the Littles

So, you’ve been trying to figure out what educational experiences you can provide for your Littles this summer. Well, me too! With having a 3 and a 5 year old, it can be difficult to find programs that cater to both age groups. I think I may have a program that will help many of us and I’m so excited! Discovery Lane in Waldorf is a new preschool offering summer camp for the Littles. Depending on where you live in Southern Maryland, it just might be worth the drive.

Inspired by the pedagogy of Reggio Emilia, developed by Loris Malaguzzi, Discovery Lane uses an approach that is communal and individualized, tailored to students interests. The program is inspired by the principles of respect, responsibility, and community. Through exploration and discovery students are supported by an enriching environment based on the interest of the students through a self-guided curriculum.

Discovery Lane Preschool is offering a Summer Enrichment Program for children ages 2 1/2 – 5 years old. Yes, send your 2 1/2  year old and they DON’T have to be potty trained! Another great thing about the program is that they offer both half day and a full day options along with healthy organic snacks! Not to mention that the rates are comparable to other summer camps (prices available on the website).
