Disney on Ice – Follow Your Heart Recap

Disney on Ice – Follow Your Heart Recap

Do you remember going to Disney On Ice as a kid? Remember all the lights and sounds and the awe you felt watching Mickey and his friends dance and jump all around the rink? This year’s Disney on Ice celebration is sure to make the whole family smile and laugh and take you back to your childhood. From seeing all the characters come to life on the ice, to watching your children’s’ eyes light up with excitement and joy as their favorite Disney characters skate and twirl under the lights.

But our night didn’t start with the characters out on the ice. It started about an hour before the show where we gathered back-stage for pizza, popcorn and some other tasty treats. The multitude of costume-wearing children had the opportunity to play games and color pictures of some of their favorite Disney characters. The Littles even got a chance to take pictures with, none other than, Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

So, when it was time for the show, our kids made a quick stop to the restroom and off to our amazing seats. The show started the gang from Disney’s Inside Out, including Riley and her friends.  With so many mixed emotions it wasn’t long before she realized that with a little courage and confidence she could help her hockey team win the championship!  The show brought to life all the amazing action from the Princess stories of Mulan, Snow White, Tiana and Aerial to name a few. We even got the chance to see the cast of Finding Dory swimming across the ice and into our hearts. Our own Buzz Lightyear’s eyes beamed when Woody and the crew from Toy Story hit the ice, even the little troll stopped by.

The high-flying performances and the magic in the air made us feel like we’d entered in to a storybook. We were close enough to the magic that during Elsa’s “Let It Go”, we got absolutely blanketed in fake snow. Consequently, our seats were in a place where every cotton-candy, lemonade and flashy-thingy had to come right in front of us, but thanks to all the pre-show festivities our Littles were pretty much unfazed by them. But BEWARE, it’s a Disney show so everything, even popcorn feels “magical.”
