Oh no, the summer is coming to a close and I’m not too sure the little ones will be excited about it! The outdoor pools will be open for just a few more weeks and school is starting back. Enjoy the last few days of summer with your family and friends.

“The Country Memories Band” will be at Sotterley with the goal of delighting you and yours with traditional country favorites and golden oldies … and getting you all out on the dance floor! This Southern Maryland band has earned a strong following over the past 16 years.

This special open jump is for our guests aged 1-6 years old only. There is a designated toddler area is for 1yrs-3yrs only. 2 yrs-6yrs are allowed to jump on the inflatables.

Taiko Drumming Demonstration– Waldorf (FREE)
Waldorf West Library
Saturday, August 22; 2 pm
Taiko Drumming, an ancient Japanese form of rhythm produced on large drums was originally used in war to create noise to frighten the enemy. Now taiko drumming is more lyrical and physical, with emphasis on dance, movement and pleasing sounds than intimidating the enemy. Join us for a demonstration of taiko drumming and stay to talk with the performers afterward.

Toy Boat Building – Solomons

Come out and build a toy boat. Sessions starting on the half hour. All Ages Welcome.

3rd Annual Bowie Macaroni Kid Back to School BASH!– Bowie

It’s a carnival theme this year! Noteworthy Upcoming Events

La Plata Kids Summer Show – La Plata (FREE)
La Plata Town Hall
Saturday, August 25; 10 am – 11 am
As every family with youngsters in the Washington, DC area knows, Rocknoceros is three guys: Coach, Williebob, and Boogie Bennie. They have been making award-winning music together since 2005 and are celebrating their 10th year together with a brand new album. The Town of La Plata will host five summer shows for kids at Town Hall.  The shows are geared towards preschool and elementary age children and are approximately 45 minutes long.  The shows are free and open to the public.

People StyleWatch Celebrity Style Studio Tour: FOR PARENTS
