    Meet the nature center’s live animals including reptiles, amphibians, and birds of prey at Clearwater Nature Center.
  6. Make a Chalkboard Door Hanger FREE
    Local Home Depot Locations
    Saturday, Aug.1; 9am – 12pm
    Learn how to make a chalkboard door hanger. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin.
  7. First Saturday Family Fun FREE
    Accokeek Foundation – Accokeek
    Saturday, Aug.1; 1pm – 3pm
    This family-oriented program will begin with storytime, followed by an engaging craft and/or activity that will encourage families to get out and enjoy nature together. accokeek
  8. Summerseat Farm Open House
    26655 Three Notch Road, Mechanicsville, MD
    Sunday, Aug 2; 11am
    Cost $5 per person
    Bring the kids and come on out to Summerseat Farm on the First Sunday of each month. Help us feed the animals and then tour the Manor House, wander in the gardens, check out some crafts, and enjoy the farm.
  9. Movies on the Potomac – FREE
    National Harbor
    Sunday, Aug 2; 6:00 pm
    The National Harbor has been the go to place to watch a movie under the stars. Check out their social media pages and website to vote on the “viewers choice” movies each month! Bring blankets, chairs and snacks to enjoy family movies together. This week’s movie: The Flintstones. All movies start at 6 pm.movies_habor
  10. Fairies in the Woods FREE
    Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary and Visitor’s Center – Upper Marlboro
    Sunday, Aug 2; 2pm-3pm
    Donations Accepted
    Come explore the forest as fairies! Learn how fairies and animals use the woods to hide and make a home for the fairies that may live there. Dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes.
