A 4D Interactive Performance for Young Audiences

In case you haven’t heard, the Adventure Theatre MTC has done it again with an interactive, 4D immersion children’s performance of Jumanji! Yes, Jumanji! Directed by Serge Seiden, this show allows young explorers to be apart of the game as each jaw dropping mystery comes to life! The play, originally adapted from book by Chris Van Allsburg, takes us on a journey with Judy, Peter and a new friend (the Guide) as they battle adventures in order to finish the game of Jumanji before mom and dad return home!

It all starts with siblings, Judy and Peter at home trying to cure a case of boredom. They find an old game at the park and decide to take it home, but they didn’t know the amount of dismay they’d encounter.  In the case of siblings, the two don’t always get along or tend to want to work together. But as they take on a stampede, a giant snake, underwater animals and other uncommon scenarios, they learn to stick together in order finish the game and get back to a “normal” life.

Your kids will enter into the exotic world of Jumanji where rain, snow, wind and lava sprinkle their heads and blows across the theater just as Judy and Peter do. These special effects along with the puppeteers will have children bouncing up and down in their seats. Parents and kids were shocked when the effects kicked in! Mouths opened wide and then smiles appeared. Don’t worry if you child isn’t familiar with the book or the movie, I can almost guarantee they’ll know it when they leave. Okay, my son has seen the movie and did remind me that there were no spiders in the play. But that’s okay, other than that, my two throughly enjoyed it!

If you ever wanted to relive a childhood favorite with your children, this is the one. Giggles, smilies and questions like, “did you see that?” or “did you feel that” will be quietly whispered in your ear. It was our first visit to Adventure Theatre MTC and we were delighted during our experience. The staff, actors, theater setup and ambience were all perfect in every way. If you haven’t taken your Little One to see this performance, you still have plenty of time, well enough time. The show runs until August 28th and I have discounted tickets.

Please note that the performance is recommended for ages 4 and older because of the loud noise and special effects. However, there were many small children at the performance when we attended.
