I’ve been looking for a day all to myself. No cooking, no cleaning, being carefree, no screaming kids, and most of all, no mommy or wifey expectations. Just a day people!! I mean, I do get my ME TIME in but I need a little bit more.
Not that long ago I was introduced to District MotherHued, a DC area mommy group for millennials moms of color who meet up for posh like events. Never really having the time to attend in the past, I’d just check them out periodically to see upcoming events. Just recently they made a big announcement that a Mom Conference was in the works and my anticipation grew! Looking at the teaser post, calls for speakers and volunteers, I knew that there was going to be greatness in the room!
Finally, the Momference™ was made public and the tickets are now available to purchase! The FIRST conference of its kind, The Momference™is designed to Engage, Equip and Empower the melanated, millennial mom (taken from the website). Okay, so now like me, you wanna know what to expect. They are pulling in the heavy hitters with keynote speakers Julee Wilson (Essence) and Kahlana Brown (InStyle Magazine). It seems like there will be excitement all day long. So here’s the run down on what The Momference is going to offer:
