Evolution Engine at B&O Railroad Museum

Go back in time with the kids and explore the dinosaur age at B&O Railroad Museum’s Evolution Engine event. Learn about evolution and why it caused dinosaurs to become extinct. My kids talk about the asteroid that practically wiped off every being on earth all the time! With the recent release of dinosaur movies, we’re having these conversations more and more. Nevertheless, these creatures fascinate us I’m excited that B&O bought it back this year.

Evolution Engine, is a part of B&O’s summertime STEM series and highlights the technological evolution of locomotives and the environmental evolutionary changes which impacted the lives of dinosaurs. Kids and adults, alike, can roam the evolution maze, discovering facts and truths about the extinction of dinosaurs and shift from steam engines to diesel engines. Sensory challenges include an excavation and rail design station, egg hunt races, face painting, waterworks zone, and more at the B&O’s backyard Pavilion.

Event Dates and Ticket Information

Saturday, July 28, 10am – 3pm
Sunday, July 29, 11am – 3pm
Train Ride: Saturday at 11:30am & 2pm. Sunday at 1pm
No need to buy tickets in advanced, they can be purchased on-site!
General Museum Admission: $20 for Adults, $17 for Seniors (60+), $12 for children (2-12)
Coach Class Train Rides: $3 for adults, $2 for children with paid admission.
