Explore Baltimore on the Cheap During Dollar or Less Days

It’s that time of year when we have the opportunity to explore many of Baltimore’s gems for just $1 or less. Our entire family (yes, even the little babies were in tow) decide to brave the cold and the crowds to explore some of the best attractions in Baltimore one year. Okay, I’ll be honest and tell you that it was a little overwhelming so I must give you a few tips to make the experience enjoyable. Here we go:

1. Plan out where you want to go. Let’s face it, there will be hundreds of people visiting so be sure to create a list of your top 5 sites. It is likely that you will be able to get into at least 2. I’d pick the ones you haven’t been to before or the ones that have interesting exhibits.
2. Be prepared for long lines both outside and inside the venues. I think we stood in line for about an hour to get into Port Discovery, so yeah, just be ready.
3. Have snacks on deck. I’m not sure that you can eat inside of each venue but the kids will be hungry along the way. Having snacks on hand will save you more money!!
4. Wear warm clothes. Trust me, there will be people lined up outside and around the corner. We ended up taking turns standing in a fast food restaurant while waiting in line one year. Just check the weather before you go.
5. HAVE PATIENCE! Remember, most attractions cost $10+ per person on regular operating days so everyone will be trying to take advantage of this HUGE discount. Caution: There may be crying, bumping, and emotional children wondering about.

The Downtown Partnership of Baltimore is known as the organization that gets things done. It is your connection to everything that’s happening in Maryland’s largest business center, cultural district, and fastest-growing neighborhoods.
