I’m spending the last few days of summer with my family and only sharing a few family events in the Maryland area! Be sure to check out a few of our beautiful local parks and playgrounds, we are!

 Friday

Family Movie Night (Big Hero 6) – Accokeek – FREE
Christ Church Accokeek – 600 Farmington Rd. West Accokeek, MD
Friday, August 14; 7 pm
Christ Church is sponsoring free movies under the pavllion on our grounds on the Friday nights of August 7, 14 and 21. The Moonbounce goes up by 7pm. The movies start at dusk (usually around 8:15 pm). Popcorn, snacks and drinks will be available for purchase.

Saturday

Reading Stories with Ranger Steph -Oxon Hill – FREE
Oxon Hill Farm, 6411 Oxon Hill Rd.
Saturday, August 15; 1 pm – 2 pm
Come listen to stories, sing songs, and enjoy other activities with Ranger Steph in the Visitor Barn at Oxon Hill Farm. For babies, toddler, preschoolers and the adults who love them!

Children’s Day – Coltons Point – FREE
St. Clement’s Island. 38370 Point Breeze Rd., Coltons Point, MD
Saturday, August 15; 11 am
Children’s Day offers activities for kids of all ages, including games, crafts, food, free water taxi rides for kids (weather permitting), a bike raffle and free water bottles for the first 200 children.  Meet community heroes from the Fire Department, Rescue Squad, Sheriff’s Office and more.

Saturday Night Roller Skating – Leonardtown
Leonard Hall Recreation Center
Saturday, August 15; 6 pm – 9 pm
Cost: $5 per person, Skate Rentals $2.50
All Ages Welcome!

Tiny Tots – Magic Toyshop – Glen Echo Park
The Puppet Co. Playhouse
Saturday, August 15 ; 10 am
Cost: $5
The Toyland Express Train stops at Toyland where rag dolls, teddy bears, dancing blocks, and a Jack-in-the-box all come to life before your very eyes! Ages: 0-4

A Day in the Vineyard at Still Creek Winery -FREE
Still Creek Vineyards. 23204 Colton Point Road, Avenue, MD
Saturday, August 15 ; 11 am
A fun filled day for the whole family to support the Cancer Support Group of Southern Maryland. Highlights include; kids activities, silent auction, vineyard wagon rides, dunking booth, food vendors, wine tastings, live music, classic car show, tractor show, local art demonstrations and sales.This is a rain or shine event. No entrance fee, but donations are welcome.
