This weekend is going to be super hot! With this in mind, I think it’ll be best to do outdoor activities early in the morning or later in the day. There’s not a ton of things going in Southern Maryland for little ones but I’ve found a few that I think are worth a mention.

Friday

Yoga in the Parks – FREE
Marlton Community Park – Upper Marlboro
9 am -10 am
Outdoor yoga classes in the parks! Learn basic yoga techniques and how to free your mind, body, and spirit in this popular fitness activity for all ages.

National EMS for Children Day: Sick Teddy Bear Clinic – FREE
Regency Furniture Stadium – Waldorf

Have a sick or injured cuddly friend? The teddy bear doctor is in at the 2015 Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for Children Day event at Regency Furniture Stadium. Children of all ages are encouraged to bring their sick or injured stuffed animals for evaluation and repair. If your child does not have a stuffed animal, stuffed bears will be provided while supplies last. There will be emergency vehicles and give-away items to promote pediatric emergency medical care within our community and to prevent children’s illnesses and injuries.

LaPlata Concert Series: Four of a Kind – FREE
LaPlata Town Hall
7:00 pm
The weekly concerts take place on the lawn at La Plata Town Hall. Concert goers are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs for sitting. A play area for children, the Kids’ Zone, allows parents to enjoy the concert while keeping an eye on the little ones.
