Sesame Street

Sesame Street Live Review

A Real Mom Review of Sesame Street Live

Make your Magic was an amazing and engaging show that was created for the youngest Sesame Street fans who are just learning to walk and the oldest fans from 50 years ago when the original television show first started.  This spectacular production clearly illustrates the importance of perseverance, determination and the true “power of yet”. The production is centered around an upcoming magic show on Sesame Street featuring an inspiring magician named Justin who encourages Elmo on his quest to learn a special magic trick to perform during the show.  Over a 90-minute timeframe, Elmo, Justin and all our favorite furry friends experience many “magical” moments as Elmo continues to practice his special magic trick.  Those magical moments include watching the evolution of a butterfly with Abby; discovering the mystery of shadows with Big Bird; mixing primary colors to create a masterpiece with Grover; and transforming several ingredients to make delicious cookies with the two Monster Foodies-Cookie Monster and Gonger. In addition to the magical motivating messages embedded in the performance, the set, props and special effects allow you to be transported to the Sesame Street Neighborhood.

While we truly loved the entire show, our favorite part would have to be the musical parodies including the “Cookie Shuffle” also known as the “Cupid Shuffle; Justin the Magician’s theme song performed to the rhythm of the 90’s hit “Poison” by Bell, Biv, Devoe; and we can’t forget “Hop This Way” inspired by Aerosmith’s song “Walk This Way”. With a soundtrack including these songs and many Sesame Street originals, there is no wonder everyone in the arena was moving and grooving during the entire show.
