Let’s hear it for the weekend! These Maryland Family Events will keep everyone busy and offer just the right amount of fun to put them to bed early! Most of the events are FREE so pick one and get going! Fall festivals are in full effect and you can see the list here!

Safety Day
Montpelier Farms. Upper Marlboro.
October 14; 11am – 2pm
Safety demonstrations, fire equipment, meet local officers and take pictures with the Fire Truck or the Heavy Rescue Squad.

Prince Georges Oktoberfest 2017
Bowie Towne Center
October 14; 11am – 6pm
Music, entertainment, food, exhibitors and artisans. Complimentary Beer & Wine tastings!

Great Pumpkin Adventure
Terrapin Adventures. Savage.
October 14; Various times
Come in costume. Enjoy decorating your free pumpkin or ghost with supplies provided by the merchants at Savage Mill. Then stroll the Mill and collect free candy. Free for kids of all ages.

Town of La Plata Fall Festival.
La Plata Town Hall. La Plata. 
October 15; 12 pm – 3 pm.
Free activities, live entertainment, craft vendors and food for sale. FREE

Harvest Festival.
Riverdale House Museum. Riverdale Park.
October 15; 12 pm – 3:30pm.
Hands-on activities in the garden, open-hearth kitchen, create autumn crafts, and snack on seasonal treats. $5/$2 12 & under.

Fishin’ Buddies Derby
Gilbert Run Park. Charlotte Hall.
October 14; 7am
Teams of one child (ages 6-15) and one adult (21+) compete in two different age divisions for the largest and most bluegill, crappie, and bass with a special award for trout and catfish. Bank anglers and boat anglers will compete separately. $7

Hyattsville VFD Open House & Kid’s Fire Safety Adventure Day
Hyattsville Volunteer Fire Department, MarylandOctober 14; 10:30am – 3pm
Kid’s Fire Safety Adventure Course, giveaways, blood pressure checks, try on fire fighter gear, fire trucks on display. FREE

The Wharf Kickoff Celebration
