Maryland Family Festivals to Get Your Summer Started

You know summer is near when the Festivals come to town! This month is full of Festivals in the Maryland area but I’m only listing ones for this weekend to get you started. Many of the festivals are free to attend and I did sneak in a wine festival (but it’s free for kids, LOL). I’ll be sending out more summer events next week.

Annapolis Greek Festival – FREE

Frederick Festival of the Arts – FREE

Frederick, MD
Celebrating 23 years, the Frederick Festival of the Arts, presented by the Frederick Arts Council, is held along Carroll Creek Linear Park in the heart of Historic downtown Frederick.

Great Grapes Food and Wine Festival – KIDS FREE (I only listed this because you can take the kids)

BELTWAY BBQ SHOWDOWN

Tucker Road Athletic Complex – Fort Washington, MD
The 10th Annual Beltway BBQ Showdown contest highlights the art of barbecuing in Prince George’s County and the Mid-Atlantic region. art, music, and history of BBQ in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Crafts and Campfire on the Beach – FREE

Imagination Bethesda Street Festival! – FREE

Celebrate children, art, and all things fun at the 22nd annual Imagination Bethesda. Activity tents, face painters, live entertainment.

Bowiefest –FREE
June 4; 11am -6pm
Allen Pond Park – Bowie, MD
Bowiefest is a long-standing tradition. Rides, performances, contests, food vendors, arts and crafts festival.

Savage Fest – FREE
June 4; 10:30am – 5:30pm
Savage, MD
Live music from local bands, local entertainment, pony rides, magic shows, a historic reenactment, a petting zoo, games, crafts, food.

Children’s Day on the Farm – FREE
June 5; 11 am – 5pm
Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum – St. Leonard, MD
Kids can enjoy a petting zoo, a tractorparade, pony rides, face painting and crafts, Pinch, the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs baseball team mascot, performances, magicians and the Blue Sky Puppet Theater.

Meet Daniel Tiger at the Bowie Baysox Game
June 5; 11am
Baysox Stadium – Bowie, MD
Daniel Tiger from the hit PBS show will be appearing. Baysox Kids Park will be open for FREE use from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. This is your chance to meet Daniel Tiger before the main stadium gates open at 12:00 pm. Special ticket prices and food vouchers available.
