Maryland Organizations Getting Kids Ready for School

Many organizations in Maryland are supporting families with backpacks, supplies, haircuts and more as kids head back to school.

Bowie Macaroni Kid Annual Back 2 School Bash
August 13; 10am-2pm
Bowie
The Macaroni Kid Back 2 School Bash will include Face Painting and Balloon Twisting, A Meet & Greet with some favorite costume characters, FREE Moon Bounces,games/activities for children, as well as a shopping area for crafts and more! There will be food, swag bags for the first 50 families to check in at the Macaroni Kid table, and door prizes too!

Back to School Night
August 18; 7pm-9pm
Village Green Pavilion – Indian Head
Door prize drawings, loaded back packs for Pre-K thru 8th Grade for I.H. Elementary & General Smallwood Middle School students ONLY. FREE Admission includes dinner & snacks.

Back to School Pep Rally
August 20th; 10am-2pm
The Mall at Prince Georges
Join the party and show us your school spirit! Celebrate the start of a school year with help from our local cheerleaders, bands, and sports teams as they showcase their talent. Enjoy retailer participation and exclusive offers to ensure you’re not showing up in last year’s threads! RSVP’s must be submitted by August 19th before 3pm.

Second Annual Kidgits Back to School Blowout
August 20th; 12pm-3pm
St. Charles Towne Center – Waldorf
Enjoy fun in the bounce house, crafts, games, local food sampling, prizes, face-painting and much more! Come celebrate going back to school with us in style. For FREE admission to the event and to receive a goodie bag, sign up for the Kidgits Club at the Mall Management Office before the event date.

School Supply Distribution sponsored by Children’s Aide Society
August 20; 8am-5pm
College of Southern Maryland
The 2016 School Supplies Distribution will take place at the College of Southern Maryland in LaPlata, MD. This event is for children going to a Charles County Public School between the grades Kindergarten – 12th. This event requires pre-registration and proof of the child/children going to CCPS. Registration starts July 5th, 2016.

2nd Annual Back to School Event
August 28; 2pm-5pm
the Barber Lounge for Men – Waldorf
FREE basic haircuts and backpacks filled with school supplies while they last.

Back to School Mega Fair
August 20; 10am – 3pm
Rogers Heights Elementary School – 4301 58th Avenue, Bladensburg
Free haircuts for kids and free dental scans for kids. La Nueva 87.7 will be providing the music. Moon bounces, DC Roller Girls and so much more will all be part of the fun! School supplies while supplies last along with healthy snacks.

Bowie Town Center
Come out to Bowie Town Center for the Back to School event. There will be school supplies given away, bounce house and a Teen Bood Drive by Inova. You can also check out the many back to school deals from Bowie Town Center.

Back to School Bash

Marley Station Mall
Hang out with WPOC 93.1’s Laurie DeYoung! They be giving away Weekend in the Country tickets, live music with Case&Barley, giveaways for school and college dorms and much more! Bring the whole family!

Back to School Fair
The Village at Waugh Chapel
August 20; 10am-2pm
Join the West County Chamber of Commerce and Village at Waugh Chapel for the annual Back To School Fair –held near the clock toward and community center. Visits from your favorite local schools, Village at Waugh Chapel businesses, entertainment, free food samples and MORE.

Signature Styles Barber Salon & Spa – Glenn Dale
All school age kids are invited to come out and grab their free school supplies. There will also be a live band and moon bounce, food for sale  and vendors.
