The Christmas Village – St.Mary’s Fairgrounds

For one weekend only, the St. Mary’s County Fairgrounds will transform into a winter wonderland of Christmas sights, sounds, tastes, and memories!  Meander down the Charles Dickens-like avenue of lights and festive decorations, while sipping a cup of hot chocolate, and enjoying perfect harmonies of a cappela carolers!

Free Family Night – National Children’s Museum

Enjoy a special holiday-themed play from The Mommy Miniya & Me Show by Ollie L. Jefferson! Free Family Night features free admission to the museum for your whole family, as well as hands-on activities and interactive play in the NCM theatre and exhibit areas. Sponsored by GEICO. Please note: tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the NCM box office beginning at 5 p.m. on the day of the event. The museum will close for half an hour at 4:30 p.m. to give staff time to prepare for the event.

Jolly Jump – Pump it Up Waldorf

Cost: $12, Ages 2 and up

Join us at Pump It Up for an evening of jumping and jolly during our holiday glow jump.  Meet Santa and enjoy Christmas treats just in time for the holidays.  Glow accessories and Christmas goodies are included!  Socks must be worn while jumping.

Target $2 Family Fun Night– Port Discovery

Join Port Discovery on the 3rd Friday of every month for Target $2 Family Fun Night from 4 pm until 8 pm. General admission is just $2 per person after 4 pm.  This week’s special activities include:

  • Bike Rodeo and Safety Demonstration: 4:30 pm, 5:30 pm, & 6:30 pm
  • Family crafts: 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm
  • Once Upon a Doorstep: 6pm & 7pm

Enjoy a delicious breakfast with Santa and a firefighter!  The menu includes all you can eat scrambled eggs, home fried potatoes, pancakes, sausage links, bacon, hot biscuits, creamed chipped beef, and spiced applesauce.  Assorted juices, milk, and coffee will be available.  Proceeds from this event are for the Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Squad to continue to keep our community safe.

29th Annual Christmas Dolls and Trains Exhibit – St. Clement’s Island Museum

The St. Clement’s Island Museum in Colton’s Point presents a holiday exhibit themed “Christmas by the Bay.” Exhibits will feature special doll collections from the Black-eyed Susan and Southern Maryland Doll Clubs. Dolls will be arranged to depict Christmas scenes and vignettes of Chesapeake coastal living in the early 20th century. Other highlights include working miniature trains and a hands-on train set that children can operate. Don’t miss the free children’s bike raffle and a raffle for a fully decorated Christmas tree! Winners will be drawn on Sunday, Dec. 21. The Crab Claw Museum Store will be brimming with holiday gifts and for the one who has everything, consider a Museum Gift Membership! First Studio: An Art Exploration for 3-5 Year-Olds

Joy, warmth, and community illuminate seasonal holiday celebrations the world over. Back for its 16th season, this signature Discovery Theater show celebrates the history and customs of Ramadan, Devali, Sankta Lucia, Chanukah, Las Posadas, Kwanzaa, Christmas, and the First Nations’ tradition of the Winter Solstice in an interactive event that bridges communities and cultures. Ages 5-10.
