Disney On Ice Reminds Us to Follow Our Heart: Review

Disney on Ice Follow Your Heart Review

Get ready, get set, go…… Take a trip into the magical world of Disney with some your favorite Disney characters and stories. Disney on Ice Presents Follow Your Heart reminds us that with perseverance, hope, faith, friends and family, anything is possible.

Before the show I had the chance to interview skater Kaela Kapeikis, now a veteran to the Disney on Ice cast. Since she was a little girl, all she’s ever known is skating. Growing up with two parents who not only performed but are coaches, she couldn’t see her life being any different.  After getting away from life of competitive skating, she submitted a video to Disney on Ice hoping to one day being a part of the cast, and here she is!  For her, having the honor to play Cinderella in the show is a dream come true. Now she’s grooming young skaters to follow her lead and do what they love! See, we think the magic takes place on the ice, but it really happens behind the curtain.

In this show expect to be entertained, laugh, clap and sing along to classic Disney tunes.  You’ll fall in love with the Disney Princesses all over again when they hit the ice all performing separately with a Prince by their side. We were really blown away with the Little Mermaid’s performance as she showed off her acrobatic techniques. Mulan graced us with her presence giving us somewhat of a fighter’s dance. Cinderella, the most poise of them all, had the little ones saying oh and ah at how beautiful her costume was. Princess Tiana performance was upbeat, fun and left us wanting more.

No, the show is not all about the princesses when you have the crew from Toy Story, Finding Nemo and Inside Out close by. I would have to say that the crowd got busy one time with a western dance lead by Woody,  Jessie and Buzz Light Year. Yep, this was my favorite part of the show! We also really enjoyed the stage production of the Finding Dory scene because it put us back into the story and made it come to life so vividly. I think we all may have shed a tear at the end when Dory found her parents.

Overall, we give the show two thumbs up and look forward to seeing the next one!
