Friday, April 24

Renaissance Festival at College of Southern Maryland – FREE
 Two full-days of revelry (sans alcohol) will take place on Saturday, April 25, from 10 am through 6 pm and Sunday, April 26, from 11 am through 6 pm.  Festival activities will take place in two locations.  In the Fine Arts Theatre, the CSM Theatre Company will present performances of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.  All other activities, musical performances, face-painting, games, etc., will be on the lawn in front of the Fine Arts Lobby.  Activities are either free or priced by the vendor.

Totsicles
Capital Clubhouse, Waldorf
10:30 -11:30 am; Cost $7 per child
First steps on the frozen surface for children ages 2-5 and an adult care-giver. Explore the ice in shoes (closed toe shoes – no sandals or flip-flops) or skates (for participating children only/rentals are included in the admission). The ice arena is set up with games and activities for self guided fun designed to enhance motor skill development as well as develop comfort with the frozen element. After the ice time participants enjoy a cup of hot cocoa while listening to a story read aloud in our warm lobby. Totsicles is also scheduled Fridays when schools are off!
Gymnastics Workshop
PG Sports and Learning Complex
4:30-5:30 pm; Cost $6/participant
Looking for a fun activity for your children? Bring them to our gymnastics workshops! These workshops are an open play time for your child to explore gymnastics in a safe and fun environment. Spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Parents are required to be on the floor with the children. Ages walking to 12.
Pirates at the Center
Hanson Community Center, Waldorf
6:30 – 8:30pm; Cost $15 residents/$17 non residents/$20 at the door
Arrggh matey, you won’t want to miss the fun we are going to have at this party! Pirates at the Center is the pirate party that kids dream about! The evening will be filled with fun and excitement for all the pirates ages 2-12. All participants must be accompanied by an adult.

Weekend Interpretation on the Farm – FREE
Colonial Farm National Park, Accokeek

Colonial Farm will have fun learning some of the lost arts of homesteading, while also coming to understand that colonial people had environmental challenges too. Paired with each monthly colonial experience, museum interpreters will be on hand to engage visitors of all ages in interactive activities that help to illuminate some of our time’s most pressing environmental issues.
Baby Expo presented by the Judy Center and Babies R Us –FREE

The Judy Center in Partnership with Babies R Us, presents a Baby Expo! This event is for families who are expecting or have children under the age of one. There will be demonstrations and giveaways.

Simon Kidgits Club Planet Helpers

Local families are invited to “go green” during St. Charles Towne Center’s Kidgits Little Planet Helpers event! On Saturday, April 25 from 1 – 3 p.m. in the Kidgits Play Area, attendees will plant their own seedling to take home and watch it grow! They can also learn ways to keep the environment clean and healthy. There will even be cookie decorating, giveaways and educational activities for guests of all ages to enjoy. Don’t miss out on the eco-friendly fun!

Our monthly family day show is two hours of all-request live music paired with a lunch buffet, a deal that can’t be beat in the D.C. area.
