Get out and enjoy one of the many events happening this weekend. Easter events kick into high gear and we welcome in Ringling Bros Circus and the Harlem Globetrotters!

Smallwood Rec Center  – Waldorf
March 18, 6:30pm – 8:30pm
Cost: $15 at the door
Enjoy games, activities, and a flashlight Easter egg hunt. Prizes awarded to those who find the most Easter eggs and the prize egg. Prizes also will be awarded for the jelly bean count and coloring contest. Even get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny. All participants must be accompanied by an adult and must bring their own flashlight and Easter basket or bucket. $15 fee at the door.


Saturday, March 19th

St. Mary’s County Fairgrounds
March 19, 12 pm – 4 pm
Cost: $5 per child
It’s the 33rd Annual St. Mary’s County Easter Egg Festival. Mr. & Mrs. Cottontail will be available for photo opportunities, Included with the price of admission, children will receive a color 4″ x 6″ photo with the Easter Bunny. Activities include Easter Egg Hunt, Photos with the Easter Bunny (included in cost), kid fitness, Foundation 4 Heroes, raffles and more!

Upcycled CinderellaUpcycled Cinderella – FREE
National Theater – Washington, DC
March 19, 9:30 am and 11 am
This imaginative production brings to life the story of Cinderella in a way that will surprise and delight audiences. The wacky duo Dustmop and Binny “accidentally” stumble upon and audience and decide to put on a play with what they have before them. Using household items, recycled objects and physical comedy, our performers create hilarious characters, inventive settings and lively scenes.

Middleton Cedar Hill Farm Hunt
Middleton Cedar Hill Farm – Waldorf
March 19 & 20, 11 am  and 2 pm
Cost: $10 per egg hunter; $5 non-egg hunter
The price includes ten filled Easter eggs, our expanded play area, hayride and visiting with our newly hatched chicks, ducks, rabbits, goats and cows.

African American Heritage Family Festival – FREE
The Walters Art Museum – Baltimore
March 19, 11 am – 4 pm
Honor the unique history of the African-American experience in Maryland, connect with local cultural groups, and enjoy energizing performances, storytelling, art activities, face painting, photo booth and more . The festival is free for all ages and no registration is required.

Local families can celebrate spring at St. Charles Town Center! Hop on in and bring your little ones to see their favorite floppy eared friend….The Easter Bunny. The annual Kidgits Breakfast with the Easter Bunny event is presented by Chick-Fil-A.

Easter Egg Decorating -FREE

Fun, glitter, eggs! We promise all three at this free family-friendly workshop at the Brentwood Arts Exchange. Create beautiful decorated eggs that will impress your friends and even the Easter Bunny. Children will receive their first two eggs for free. Additional eggs will be available to purchase 2 for $1.

March 20, Two Sessions: 10 am – 1 pm and 2 – 5 pm
Cost: Free with admission
Bring your family to Annmarie for photos with the Easter Bunny! The talented photographers from Swipers Photography will be here to snap photos with the Bunny! The finished results will be sent to parents just in time for Easter. A modest donation is asked for photos. Reservations are not required. Regular admission fees will apply.

It’s World Storytelling Day! See an interactive performance and family workshop as visiting artist, Arianna Ross, takes us on an art and story adventure! Families will delight in the Wiggling Giggling Bookworm. Dance, sing, wiggle, and giggle. Families will read, write, draw, dance, and make music as we construct stories. Performance begins promptly at 1pm and lasts 45 minutes. Family art & literacy workshop lasts 45 minutes. Poetry Reading & Open Mic, 2:30-4:00pm!
