Going Wild In The Jungle Book at Imagination Stage

You’ve Never Seen The Jungle Book Quite Like This

Written By The Hubs

We had the opportunity to enjoy the show during a special performance. Although we attended the show as guests, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

First things first, let me just start off by saying that I am not a huge fan of plays or the theatre. Nothing against those who love it; there is usually just not enough excitement to keep me interested in the one to two hours of the show. And normally, thanks to the perfect lighting and level of ambient noise, I am out like a lamp before intermission :)! But this time, I must admit that was pretty amped about seeing the performance of a classic movie come to life on stage.

With that being said, Imagination Stage’s performance of The Jungle Book had more than enough engagement and excitement to keep the Littles and my attention. From the opening dance routine to Mowgli running through the audience with “man’s red flower,” there was non-stop fun. The Littles definitely enjoyed themselves, so much so that when intermission came around they both looked at me, with panic in their eyes, and asked “Is it over?!?” The show has a small cast of five actors and at times I forgot that. You become so captivated in the story and the characters that you lose track of who’s on stage. The cast even managed to include some powerful life lessons that I hope and pray the Littles picked up from Mowgli. Overall, the show was awesome and we give it Two Thumbs Up!
