It’s important for every couple to take a break from the everyday hustle and screaming kids. How often is your preference, but it MUST be done. It was finally our time to getaway for a day or two but we didn’t know where we wanted to go. After a bit of back and forth, we elected to escape to beautiful Annapolis to stay at the Loews Annapolis Hotel. When arriving at the hotel, expect nothing less than excellence. From the moment we pulled up and greeted by the valet attendants, we felt like a celebrity couple everyone was patiently waiting for.  The beautiful hotel lobby was suited for both entertainment and lounging. Each seating area had huge checkers/chess and scrabble game boards which we played of course! The staff at Loews was EXCEPTIONAL and all were very attentive to our needs. On the way to the hotel, I called to confirm our reservations and while speaking to the Guest Services I mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary. Thinking nothing of it, I totally forgot that I told her. When we walked into our room, we were welcomed with a complimentary bottle of champagne, two wine glasses and a hand written congratulatory note. A small gesture but it made our visit feel that much more special.

Our room was very spacious and like almost everything else in Annapolis, reminded us of a day at sea. The execution of it all was tastefully, with subtle touches here and there that pay homage to Annapolis’ rich maritime history. If you’re lucky, you can snag a room that overlooks the city or book one of two penthouse suites which is true luxury at its finest. They had all of the amenities you would expect from a 4 star hotel with the exception of a pool. Since the kids were not with us, we really didn’t miss it. However, the roof top patio was a perfect spot to unwind.

The BAROAK Cookhouse & Taproom is the hotel’s in-house restaurant. It’s unique architecture and design was stunning so we knew the food was going to be great. They did not disappoint! The menu offers a wide variety of options and if you can’t find what you want, the chef can make almost anything, even if it’s not on the menu. I requested a pizza and drink not offered and to my surprise, the chef delivered! And when you don’t want to leave the room for food, a good meal is only a phone call way with the hotel’s 24 hour room service.
