The National Colonial Farm invites visitors to examine a different current-day environmental issue through the lens of history. Visitors will have fun learning some of the lost arts of homesteading, while also coming to understand that colonial people had environmental challenges too. Paired with each monthly colonial experience, museum interpreters will be on hand to engage visitors of all ages in interactive activities that help to illuminate some of our time’s most pressing environmental issues. Family Fun Storytime – FREE!

This family-oriented program will begin with storytime, followed by an engaging craft and/or activity that will encourage families to get out and enjoy nature together. This month’s theme…Sheep and wool!

Illstyle & Peace – FREE!

Join Illstyle & Peace, a mixed-gender, multicultural dance company whose work focuses on the movement and spirit of Hip Hop, and who has performed with Will Smith & LL Cool J. This high-energy program brings this history of Hip Hop to life through jaw-dropping dance & audience participation. Learn about the positive aspects of Hip Hop art & history, technical elements of the dance and more! Students will also get to share some of their own dance moves.

Beauty and the Beast the Musical

Beauty and the Beast is timeless musical is a delight for all ages.  Children are invited to wear their favorite prince or princess costume and get their picture taken with Belle and her friends on any of the nights.

Bring in the little ones so they can learn how to tie their shoes! This is a fun event with treats, goody bags and other surprises along the way. They’ll even receive a certificate for becoming Certified Shoe-Tying expert!

Family Camping at Tilghman Lake Park

Take the opportunity to camp with your family and friends close to home.  You can bring charcoal to cook out dinner and breakfast on one of the many grills located in the park.  Eat under the large beautiful pavilion overlooking Tilghman Lake.  Enjoy fishing from the dock or lakeside.  Explore the 40 acre park that is home to a variety of forest wildlife, lake animals and birds, and local flora.  Walk the trail loop, or walk the connection to Laurel Springs Regional park where there is a playground, ballfields, and sport fields.
