National night out

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, better places to live.

National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community and provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

Neighborhoods across the nation host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and other various community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel and exhibits.

Counties throughout the state of Maryland participate in this big event and we have the scoop on those within the greater DC area. See the time and location of events in your neighborhood as most communities start the festivities between 4pm  and 6pm.  If you don’t see your community listed, just get in the car and start riding around, there will be plenty of places for you to stop! Our family participated in National Night Out last year and enjoyed every bit! Take the time to mingle with the neighbors, allow the kids a few hours of bouncing around before bedtime and get to know your local law enforcement.
