New Memories, New Monster Jam Fans! – Reviews from a First Timer!

Our first Monster Jam was a huge success! Finally, my family and I experienced the great energy, fun and sportsmanship of the monster truck world. Prettywicked, Barbarian, Stinger, Monster Mutt, Grave Digger, Dragon, Bad News Travels Fast, and my family’s favorite, plus the winner of the Two-Wheel Skills Challenge, Scoobydoo, had us curious, smiling, and super excited at Monster Jam 2019’s Washington, DC show.

The event opened with a morning preshow pit party displaying the trucks and their drivers up close and personal. Everyone was buzzing around, in awe of the amazing trucks with their creative identities and ATVs. Seeing our son’s face, as he saw the huge trucks at close range was the best! Now, our daughters, were initially not as thrilled, but they warmed up to it by the end of the afternoon performance. They were climbing on the ATVS to take pictures, and of course had to show their make believe driving skills. We bought the 2019 souvenir yearbook, got plenty of autographs, balloon pets and headbands, along with fun memories.

When the show started, so did the drama, in every good way! There were plenty of surprises, as drivers were striving to out do each other. We saw one monster vehicle that broke completely down during an event, and another flipped completely over landing on its roof! No matter what, whether during Racing, the Two-Wheel Skills Challenge, or Donuts, we were thoroughly entertained.

Another special part of the competition is judging. The audience did the voting-what an excellent way to keep fans engaged and involved! That was such a treat, but we had to assess quickly, 20 seconds and the session closed. It was only fair and necessary to keep the activities flowing.

Overall, we were very impressed, became instant fans, and look forward to seeing their next show. We wish we could make the Finals in May 2019 happening in Orlando, Florida or the All Star competition coming in October 2019, Las Vegas, Nevada. If you can get to these, go! If not, Monster Jam is traveling country wide. Check here for upcoming dates and showtimes.
