Reading on the Rails Summer Program for Grades 1-4

Reading Program at the B&O Railroad Museum

Readingontherails_B&O

For years the B&O has existed as a staple for growth and learning within West Baltimore. Seeking to continue to provide learning opportunities for Baltimore area youth, the B&O’s Reading on the Rails program blends literacy success with the industrial backdrop and S.T.E.A.M. focus of the B&O’s campus.

The Reading on the Rails program promotes literacy, helping children to stay on track with their reading and writing skills during the summer months for kids in grades 1-4. Set against the industrial backdrop of railroading, the program encourages children to explore storytelling through a number of independent and group activities.
