Cost:$1 or one non-perishable food item to benefit The Southern Maryland Food Bank.

The Charles County Fair welcomes visitors to a new tradition: the area’s first Kris Kringle Christmas Market. Modeled after the famous markets in Germany, this two-day event offers lights, holiday food, crafts, shopping, music, and more. The fair board and Christmas market committee encourage locals and visitors alike to come out to enjoy the music, shopping, and tasty Christmas treats.

Garden in Lights – Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center
Dec. 5 – Jan. 3, 6-9 pm
Cost:$6.00; kids 4 & under Free; members free

Ornament show and sale, nightly entertainment, “Holiday I Spy Game” and refreshments available for purchase.

Holiday Hayrides – Watkins Regional Park
Friday & Saturday, December 5-27,
7:00 pm
Cost: $5/per person, Reservation Required

Join us for a hayride through the Festival of Lights with a visit to Watkins Nature Center to warm up by the fire, see the live animals and enjoy refreshments.

Breakfast with Santa – North Point HS

Enjoy breakfast with Santa, photos optional. Food prepared by the culinary arts students and all proceeds go to SkillsUSA

Cupcakes for Christmas – Waldorf West Branch Library

Freecupcakewraps.com is pleased to announce the 3rd annual “Cupcakes for Christmas” 2014 initiative. This year we are sponsoring a toy drive. The goal is to collect new toys for the Center for Children in La Plata, MD.

Kris Kringle’s Kids Craft Workshop – Middleton’s Cedar Hill Farm

Penguins of Madagascar–Sensory­ Friendly Film @ AMC St Charles Center

The program provides a special opportunity for families to enjoy their favorite films in a safe and accepting environment. The auditoriums dedicated to the program have their lights up, the sound turned down and audience members are invited to get up and dance, walk, shout or sing! This week’s movie is Penguins of Madagascar!

Santa Fly-in – College Park Aviation Museum
Dec 6, 12 – 4pm
Cost: Adults $4, Seniors $3, Children $2 (FREE 1 & under)

Watch Santa fly into the historic College Park Airport and then have your picture taken with him. Holiday arts and crafts will also be offered throughout the museum. Santa will arrive at 12:30.

Winter’s Eve @ Piscataway Park – Accokeek Foundation

Additional activities and refreshments may require purchases.
Experience the holidays 18th century farm style during this year’s Winter’s Eve event at the National Colonial Farm.
