This weekend I wanted to share 10 Family Events in the Maryland and DC Area to attend for $10 or less. From $2 Family Nights at Port Discovery to Earth Day Events at The National Zoo and National Parks, I think there’s something for every to enjoy. As always, check the event site before going out!

Aquafina $2 Family Fun Nights
April 20; 4 – 8pm
Port Discovery – Baltimore
Explore the temporary Native Voices: New England Tribal Families exhibit where you can explore five thriving New England communities as they work to balance cultural traditions with life in a modern world.

Sugarloaf Craft Festival
April 20-April 22
Montgomery County Fairgrounds – Gaithersburg
Find the finest in handcrafted fashion, home goods, jewelry, wood, glass, fine art, photography, leather designs and more! Meet the artists and watch live art demonstrations, sample specialty foods, and bring the kids for the free kids’ theater.

Johns Hopkins Spring Fair
April 20–22
Johns Hopkins Homewood Campus

Games and contests, an ever-expanding food court, and beer garden and other events run by Johns Hopkins students.

Discovering Archaeology Day
April 21; 11am – 4pm
Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum
Learn how tools are made with a flint knapping demonstration. Bring in an artifact for an identification by an archaeologist. Take a wagon ride to an archaeological dig site and enjoy games, activities and exhibits.

Earth Optimism Day
April 21; 10am – 2pm
The National Zoo – Washington, D.C.

Celebrate conservation success stories at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo in honor Earth Day. This year’s event features family friendly activities, hands-on learning opportunities and interactive demonstrations—all in the name of conservation. Hear first-hand from Zoo experts about some of the innovative solutions being used in the fight to save species.

Fossil Deposit Interpretation
April 21, 2018, 12 - 4pm
Dinosaur Park – Laurel

Dinosaur Park features rare deposit of fossils from the Cretaceous Period (144 to 65 million years ago). On the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month, you can join paleontologists and volunteers on-site to interpret fossil deposits.

Kite Fly Day
April 22; 1pm
Strathmore – Bethesda

Grab your kites and head to Strathmore for a day of fun and spectacle! Fly your own kite and watch amazing demonstrations, including outdoor choreographed team flying and indoor flying set to live music. Picnic, toss a frisbee, and enjoy the afternoon with family

Free Entrance Days in the National Parks
Various National Parks

Get out an experience over 400 national parks in honor of National Park Week. April 21st is one of 4 days where National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee will offer free admission to everyone.

Filmfest DC (For Parents)

The 32nd Annual Washington, DC International Film Festival is prominent event and gathers locals together to see 80 extraordinary films from 45 countries in 11 days at 1 amazing festival.
