Culture Queen’s Album Debut: I Like The Me I See

Over the weekend my daughter and I had the pleasure of getting up close and personal with the Queen, the Culture Queen that is! A while back we introduced everyone to Culture Queen and the Culture Kingdom Kids. Just recently, I mean like less than a month ago, the Culture Queen released her brand new CD, “I Like the Me I See!” Excited? Yes we are! I was lucky enough to get tickets to her sold out album release party and I’m so glad that we attended!

Before the performance began, we had the opportunity to see her brand new video and enjoy a Q&A session with Culture Queen and her amazing team. We learned about her inspiration for the album, how she can randomly give black history facts about any subject and gained more of a love for her as she spoke about her passion for children and her new project. When the performance started, the kids jumped up with smiles on their faces and feet moving to the beats. Kids were invited on the stage to perform the songs and a solo performance of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” by one of the Culture Kingdom Kids received high praises.

At the end of the night, Culture Queen signed CD’s and took pictures with many of the guests in attendance. My daughter loved every second of the party! As soon as we pulled out of the parking lot she asked me to play the CD! Not to mention when she woke up the next morning she reminded me that we saw the Queen last night!
