Some Much Needed “Me” Time – {Spa Giveaway}
Who needs a few hours of “Me” time with no kids, no phone calls and Lord knows, no electronics? Okay, I’m calling myself out today and how I NEVER take time out for me. Yes, I use to but somehow within the last year, I’ve steered away from taking care of myself. From work to family, the time has been a blur but NO MORE! I’m putting the smack down on all the things that are keeping me from me! I know this sounds a little selfish but really, I’m far from it. Let me share with you what I’m doing and sure, you can try it too!
I’ve picked one day of the month where I can slip away for a few hours. A good 3 hours is plenty for me and that includes breakfast or lunch! Doesn’t matter what I’m doing, all everyone needs to know is that I’m doing it alone!
Recently I chose to have my very first facial at Massage Envy. I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED! When deciding on a body treatment, I typically get a massage but this time I wanted to try something new. Upon arrival, I was greeted with water and a sense of tranquility. I longed for 1 hour of full relaxation where the focus was totally on me.
Before we got started, my Esthetician, Mogi, conducted a skin analysis with me and together we chose the Environmental Shield Vitamin C Facial. There were four options for treatment so I’m really glad that we did this. Left to my own devises, I would have probably chosen the wrong one! Although some would prefer total silence, I was glad she quietly walked me through all three stages of the process. I wasn’t expecting to have my arms and hands massaged so that was a plus! Okay, while the facial exceeded my expectations, I did tear up when Mogi pulled out a few blackheads. Don’t judge me, wait til it’s your turn!
By the time we were done, I had two thoughts: 1) When to schedule my next facial and 2) I need to schedule an appointment for my Husband. Since it was “my day” I didn’t make him an appointment but did snag a few products. While inside, I managed to take a peek into many of the treatment rooms. They were pretty basic but all seem to provide the right ambiance for quiet time. I couldn’t help but notice how many men were checking in and out. Although I’m not sure what treatments they were receiving, I’m sure that they were regulars. That furthered my thought about my husband but I kept my eyes on the prize.
Thanks to my new friend Mogi, I’m on the right track with my skin care! I know about the importance of exfoliating and types of products to use. Earlier I mentioned sharing the experience with my better half so I enlisted him as my first “client.” Now I’m no Mogi but it went very well. Together we have committed to a daily cleansing routine that we’ve actually been sticking to! Looks like our skin will be FLAWLESS as we age!
I’m not sure what I’m going to do with my “ME TIME” next month, but a facial is not far away. If you have not had one, please include it on your must do list. Actually, let me help you out. It has always been in my plans to add facials and massages to my Me Time!!! Soon as I get somethings in order! Thanks for sharing.
Melinda, I loved every moment of my experience! I hope you win!!
It’s been a rough few weeks at Home With My Kings, I would take any type of relaxation. Heck, just leave me in the massage room with some hot tea, and a book!
Wendy, I hear you! LOL!!
What a wonderful day this would be to win this prize. As I sit here writing this post, I can hear the relaxing music and the warmth of the massage room.
Jarita, I can still hear the music myself! The warm towels on my face was AMAZING!!
Wow, I don’t know what it means to have some time to relax anymore. I just recently went through a divorce and am now a working single mom two to toddlers so it seems like my duties are never-ending. I look forward to just getting 5 hours of sleep every night so a spa day sounds like a dream right about now. Glad to hear you enjoyed your time at Massage Envy.
Shay,
You are truly due for some “Me” Time! Get a sitter and take a few hours to yourself. Having kids really makes us loose ourselves sometimes but we have to take care of us so that we can take care of them! 🙂
The last treatment that I had was a massage and Mani pedi for my birthday last year. I love massages but I haven’t had a facial in a long time. Looking forward to winning! 🙂
I use to have a pedi every two weeks with my Bestie but she moved and I stopped going. 🙁 I’m scheduling my facials every other month and will be getting back on to my pedi regimen.
I’ve never had a facial, but it sounds like something I should try. It’s been ages since I’ve had a massage that didn’t consist of my toddler jumping on my back or walking on me. I was able to get away for a pedicure 2 weeks ago though and that was nice! Me time is so important!
Alisa,
I concur with you on the Toddler Massages, I appreciate playtime but it’s not the same! LOL!!
Isn’t it funny how we spoil our family and don’t consider treating ourselves?! I’d love an opportunity for peace, tranquility, relaxation, and pampering… facial or massage. I’d appreciate either!
Would love to win! I definitely could use some me time. 🙂
Would love to win!!
I love facials but my skin is so sensitive so I’ve been scared to try any new products. I’ve been looking to try massage envy! I stopped into one and they gave me a sample to make sure I wasn’t allergic. My skin did fine so I’m excited to try them!
I have very sensitive skin as well. I was a little concerned but they made sure we were using the best products for my skin type.
My last body/skin-care treatment was a 20 minute fully clothed massage at the mall lol. Not exactly what I consider relaxing but ok
LOL! I know what you mean!!
I’m a massage therapist there and Mogi is the best! She is so sweet and the facials are just amazing! I would suggest any and everyone see her!!!
Jwana, I’m happy that I received my treatment her! She is the BOMB!!
The last time I had some “me” time was my birthday, 3/24. I treated myself to a mani-pedi which was LONG overdue as prior to I hadn’t had one since last summer. It was the best treat for myself!
I know exactly what you mean, we gotta do better! 🙁
My last me time ( a pedicure ) was before my daughter was born – she’s 15 months now!
Ok, You’re LOONNGG overdue! LOL!
My last treatment was a pedicure…maybe 2 months ago. It’s hard to find the time, but I guess I need to get my warm weather get straight very soon! LOL
That should be feet…lol
OMG – Love this idea and definitely love the opportunity for ME Time. It has been almost two years since my last massage and I am well overdue. Thanks for encouraging us to take better care of ourselves.
