Taking a Beauty Break at Tropical Nails & Spa

Who’s ready to put themselves at the top of the priority list? I mean blocking some time off the schedule to take care of you.

Recently I had the pleasure of getting my whole life back with a visit to the Tropical Nails & Spa in St. Charles Town Center. They just moved into a huge new location across from the Post Office up from the smaller space in front of Macy’s. Let me tell you why Tropical Nail Salon just might be the place to book your next mani/pedi appointment.

1.) Cleanliness is next to Godliness– I won’t lie, when I walk into any establishment, I’m like Inspector Gadget, if it doesn’t seem clean, I’m out the door. This salon was one of the cleanest salons that I’ve been in. The floors, chairs, bathrooms, all clean!

2.) Signature Pedicures –. Now, I went in for a pedicure (because it’s winter and we still need to take care of our feet) and I was overwhelmed by over 15 different types to choose from. Have you ever seen a foot soaking tub filled with Lemons and Limes? Well, you’ll get that here! After much debate in my head, I ended up choosing the Grapefruit Surprise pedicure and I’m glad I did. The scrub smelled so clean and fresh and helped me to relax that much more. The massage chairs played a big part in that too! Although a little more pricey, the Tropical Signature Pedicures include callus treatment and paraffin dip. If you’re having a group event, you might be able to snag the cute private pedicure room (ask about it).

3.) Nails, Waxing, Massages, Oh My! – There are 3 pages full of services you can get. Aside from pedicures I’ve mentioned, they’ve got your nails covered with natural nail care (mani’s, gel sets, etc.), nail enhancers (acrylic, solar nails and powder gel), special shapes and more! Other services include waxing (all areas), eyelashes, permanent makeup, massages and bundle packages. I had the opportunity to get a glimpse of the massage rooms in the back. They were pretty basic but seemed to be quite relaxing.

4.) A Healthy Snack with Water – I loved that a cup of seasonal fruit (sealed) and bottled water was waiting for me at the chair. I forgot my snack so this was right on time.

5.) Friendly Faces and Conversation – I was totally surprised by all the friendly faces that greeted me and the laughter and conversations happening all throughout the salon. It was like each customer was fully engaged with the technician during their appointment. It was new for me to crack jokes and chat with the tech but it was super fun nonetheless. I also noticed that the “regular clients” were so excited to see the staff, some even hugging and sharing photos.

I had a great time at the salon and will definitely be putting an appointment in my bi-monthly rotation for self care. It’s the perfect place to take of ME after all of the Mommy and Me’s! 🙂

If you’re in Southern Maryland (Charles County) or just passing through, be sure to stop by for a quick fix for you beauty needs! Check out Tropical Nails & Spa on Facebook for updates and more info.
